Who's traveling? / Chi viaggia?

My name's Camilla, I am just over 30 years old, and I've spent the last 7 years of my life living, studying and working in the US. After a Masters at The Ohio State University (and 2 great years living in Columbus, OH), and a PhD - still on the way - at UCLA (and 5 glorious years living in L.A.), I was hired by Wesleyan University to coordinate their Italian language program.
Wesleyan University is in Middletown, CT - that's where I will spend the next 4 years of my life.

So, having done - and loved - a roadtrip back in 2010 when I drove my then newly-acquired car from Columbus to LA through the southern US, I decided it was time for another roadtrip, this time heading north! Then I contacted my longtime friend - and Italian neighbor - Tommaso, and when he enthusiastically agreed to come with me, I knew it would be great fun.

We discussed an itinerary over 12 days, booked all the hotels on the way, and we are now ready to start! 

After a short visit to San Francisco (also documented here), the trip will start on August 1st and continue as follows:

• August 1-3: Bryce Canyon, UTAH
• August 3-5: Yellowstone Park, WYOMING
• August 5-6: Mount Rushmore, SOUTH DAKOTA
• August 6-7: Sioux Falls, SOUTH DAKOTA
• August 7-9: Chicago, ILLINOIS
• August 9-10: Toronto, Ontario, CANADA
• August 10-11: Niagara Falls, Ontario, CANADA
• August 11-12: Arrival to Middletown, CONNECTICUT
• [possibly a short trip to Boston, MASSACHUSETTS]
• August 14-15: New York City, NEW YORK

Then Tommaso will return to Italy and I will get settled and get to work at Wesleyan.
We are super excited for this trip, and we hope you'll follow and comment on our adventures!

A small Cami and a huge cactus in Arizona!

Mi chiamo Camilla, ho poco piu` di 30 anni, e ho passato gli ultimi 7 anni della mia vita vivendo, studiando, e lavorando negli Stati Uniti. Dopo un master a The Ohio State University (e 2 fantastici anni passati a vivere a Columbus, OH), e un dottorato - ancora da concludere - a UCLA (e 5 meravigliosi  anni passati a L.A.), sono stata assunta da Wesleyan University per coordinare il loro programma di lingua italiana. 

Wesleyan University e` a Middletown, CT - e` dove passero` i prossimi 4 anni della mia vita.

Percio`, avendo fatto - e amato - una roadtrip nel lontano 2010 quando avevo guidato la mia allora nuova Volvo da Columbus a Los Angeles attraverso la parte meridionale degli Stati Uniti, ho deciso che era tempo per un altro viaggio, questa volta passando da nord! Cosi` ho contattato il mio caro e vecchio amico - e vicino, in Italia - Tommaso, e quando lui ha accettato entusiasticamente di venire con me, ho capito che sarebbe stata un;esperienza incredibile.

Abbiamo discusso un itinerario di 12 giorni, prenotato tutti gli hotel, e siamo ora pronti a partire!
